Diffuse, adrift, and seen its better days, or something like that..
Rand's been dead a quarter century. Yikes.
Her works remain, but her and her strong personal influence other than her written words on any kind of a 'Objectivist movement' -- something I personally always found a little jarring -- are long gone. She did seem to have a running theme about the importance of singular individual visions, so why wouldn't same apply to any movement that her singular vision was responsble for?
'Reardon Steel' handed down to Reardon's kids, had they existed, would not be the same as 'Reardon Steel.' That seems to be the way of the world, as it is.
What remains of any movement/movements that sprang up around Rand is rampant/splinter Protestantism. The Reformation of Reason, etc. Hell, it was going on when she was alive and kicking, what magical powers can she extend from beyond, other then simply her words? Those lasting words are her lasting success. Screw the movement/movements. They are waves in her wake, period.
Death sucks. That's life. It's got to be enough, because that's all there is.
But, she did leave alot to ponder. Folks still do, that's more than enough.
regards, Fred
