I like how -- looking at Aaron's (potential) driving directions -- he is instructed to exit on the 'Ronald Reagan' turnpike ... fitting, don't you agree?

What's also funny -- and please excuse my excessive verbal excretions here (I'm currently undergoing a nutri-pharmacologically-induced spell of enhanced cognition and, therefore, hyper-aware of the connections currently existing within reality) -- what's also funny, is that Aaron, in asking where the RoR conference is, remarked that he wouldn't then be kissing me (though my only available answer, because it's the truth of the matter, had to be 'Kissimmee').

LOL, that is an ironic connection.

Looks like you're going to Disneyworld! It is a lot more driveable than New Zealand, and could be fun. A question I have now when considering Oist group events is whether a rational, libertarian, but non-Oist significant other would be welcome. I suppose that's really a Rowlands question?

Yup, that's a 'Rowlands question' alright.

Aaron, you have to use your own best judgment.  Obviously if the significant other is hostile to Objectivists, it's not going to be fun for anyone.  But there's no requirement that people must be Objectivists to attend.

Ed,
You're right-- "quote" is the wrong word for all instances of Ed-articulating. I'll change "quote" to "refer to". ;)

LOL, Ed-- are you sure it's at KISSIMMEE? Anyone else thinking "subliminal message"? *laugh*

I don't understand the Camus one; seems it would be more appropriate for Sartre.

You're probably right. Camus' most prominent work is centered around whether to commit suicide, but is surprisingly upbeat, and 'Found exit' sounds like a reference to a Sartre play. Camus seems tough to do appropriately; any takers?

Jenna,

==========
Ed,
You're right ...

Aaagh. Now that does feel good to hear.  :-)

'Ed-articulating'
==========

It's actually not too terribly difficult to do, really (to pull off an instance of hypo-manic Ed-articulation), but it can get a little pricy -- I'll admit to that. Heck, I once spent over $20 on psycho-active compounds for the intellectually adversarial acrobatics required in A SINGLE, DRAWN-OUT DEBATE here (but I did hand the guy his ass, though). The 'formula' may be a little different for different folks, but it would likely involve manipulation of one or more of the following neurophysiological pathways:

1) an acetylcholine inducer -- I utilize Twinlab's, dimethylaminoethanol-containing, Choline Cocktail ($2 per smart drink) and top it off with a little cytidinediphosphocholine (CDP-choline), and the acetylcholinesterase inhibitor 'huperzine A'

2) a norepinephrine inducer -- I utilize True Focus (by Now Foods) and stack that with Thyroid Energy (also from Now), along with judicious quantities of caffeine, theobromine, tyramine, phenylethlamine, and epigallocatechin gallate

3) a brain-perfusion inducer (ie. 'Viagra' for the brain) -- I utilize vinpocetine and standardized Ginkgo biloba extract, to get this job done

Warning:
Folks already on psycho-active meds, should not ever take psycho-active compounds (such as the short list above) -- without first discussing it with their personal healthcare professional.

Umm, ahh, ACTUALLY, I hadn't really thought about it -- until, of course, you pointed it out.

Clever girl.

[Oh, and just let me know if you think you're ever going to Kissimmee, okay?]   ;-)

acetylcholine... norep... brain perfusion...

Hell, dexmethylphenidate works well enough for me. Just be careful about swallowing your pills with dihydrogen monoxide. That compound is dangerous and can cause drowning if applied irresponsibly.

Mmm, Focalin ... good stuff. Might cause new synapse-formation, too.

Mmmhmm. The dose makes the poison.  :-)

But not all fluids carry this warning on the label (ever seen The Abyss?).
