I'm sure there's a context for this...elsewise, don't use Chris Sciabarra's name in vain. :P

My only complaint is that there wasn't more of Inara (Morena Baccarin.)

I liked the engineer chick more, the one who had the hots for the doctor.

[Spoiler] The doctor gets it in the final battle, so I guess that means she's available.

****************** SPOILER ******************

What, Phil, were you rummaging around your popcorn bag looking for old maids during the brief sex scene at the end of the movie, in which the doctor appears quite spry and very much alive?

I also liked Inara more, because it's my passion for harder women and she is quite one (when you know the series).

Philip Coates and Max: I like both Inara and Kaylee. Why choose between serious and sweet? Isn't SOLO about taking a sledgehammer to false dichotomies? :)

Bravo to Matthew's Post 9. It's made clear in the series that Kaylee and Inara both excel in their chosen fields, so that's not really a good basis of comparison. Kaylee's folksy sorta-shy-but-really-very-sexual persona is very appealing, but I'm also drawn to Inara's more cultured cosmopolitanism. I suppose if you put a gun to my head and forced me to choose, I'd go with Inara ... I'd prefer someone I could discuss art and philosophy and sense-of-life with and not get blank stares or "Aw, shucks!" answers in reply.

But I'm appalled that you have all neglected to mention River! It's hard to notice because she spends so much of the series and the movie in the throes of government-induced madness, but she's actually quite an intriguing (and *wonderfully* lithe) character. And a psychic? Just imagine the possibilities. She could read your mind and know exactly what you wanted, at any given moment. If that wouldn't make for a memorable night in the sack, I don't know what would.

Back off Andrew!;)  I sure as hell don't need any woman knowing what I'm thinking.  It's bad enough when they merely ask what I'm thinking.

Andrew Bissell, River isn't my type; she's too slender for my tastes.

No, Mr. Bissell has it right.  The other 3 women are a bit better as pure eye candy but River I suspect would be a kinky, agressive, freak in bed with all sorts of weird skills :)

Jason Quintana, if you had seen the original Firefly series you'd know that Inara is a Companion, a highly trained courtesan.

I haven't had a chance yet to see the film, so I don't know if she's in it, but when considering the women of Firefly, let's not leave out Saffron. Sure, she's kind of a bad girl, but that doesn't mean we should be in a big rush to judge her as irredeemably evil. Personally, I think she probably just needs lots of spankings.

Max,

When it comes to harder women, what about Zoe?

I better not think too much about Zoe, lest Laurence Fishburne come kick my ass.

I recently purchased the Firefly DVD set and a few weeks after seeing all of the episodes I went to see Serenity. I HIGHLY recommend spending money on both as they're very intelligent, funny, and exciting. I'll probably sit down and watch all of the Firefly episodes again very soon and I will definitely buy a copy of Serenity as soon as it's released on DVD.
