| | Eric and others -- It never ceases to amaze me that in the 21st Century so many people can't tell the difference between astronomy and astrology or science and scientology. I like to point out -- since I'm an active amature astronomer and originally majored in the subject -- that the sun moves through 13, rather than the 12 traditional constellations of the Zodiac; it moves through Ophiuchus after Scopio and before Sagittarius. Further, the days used by astrologers to determine what sign we're born under do not correspond to the actual times the sun is in the various constellations; it's only in Scorpio for a week.
I loved the John Stossel show where obtained the birthdays of a group of idividuals and had their horoscopes done. He brought them all together before the cameras, passed out the horoscopes asked if they were accurate. Most of these individuals said, "Yes, amazing, this horoscope really describes me!" You should have seen their faces when Stossel told them that they all were given the same horoscope, no matter what their birthdays were, and that the horoscope was one drawn up for a serial killer.
