Wow! Thank you for posting this, Teresa. Wafa Sultan is truly an heroic, inspiring woman. Again, wow!

Regarding the 'end-in-himself-ness' of Wafa's statement about what Muslims can do for humankind, to me it seems more like a call for the trader principle rather than some sense of duty for Muslims to "give back" to the world.  It's basically saying that Muslims should actually offer some value to the world before expecting the world to value them.  Certainly, though, the rhetoric could be more individualistic.

As to whether she is a Rand admirer, that is very debatable.  She could very well be a moderate Lefty of the secular humanist variety, that would be my guess...but it'd be nice if I was wrong in this instance.

A transcript of another television showdown Wafa had with some other Islamo guy.

http://www.annaqed.com/english/politics/who_are_the_muslim_brotherhood_trying_to_fool.html
An article Wafa wrote, criticizing supposed changes in ideology from an Islamo terrorist outfit "Muslim Brotherhood."

I tried to find an email address for her, but failed.

Given that there are many jihadist wackos out there who would like to kill her, I don't blame her for making herself hard to track down online.

At times it seems that there are no Heros. But, then Rose Flemming or Wafa Sultan pop up out of nowhere. Thank you very much Mrs. Isanhart.
Now, sadly, I fear for Sultan's life.

She really is a hero. The price of criticizing Islam can be very high. Just ask Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh. If someone puts a reward on her head or issues a fatwa against her in the coming weeks -- America should obliterate their mosque the very next day.

Surely Wafa isn't any big secret to our own main stream media. Why she wasn't sought out during the cartoon rampage to give her clear insight is beyond me.

Instead, they interview a bunch of apologist mullas and dhimma cowards. Pisses me off!

Andre Zantonavitch,

How about obliterate the people that issued the fatwa instead? I don't think destroying their place of worship is going to help.

Dean M.G.,

Definitely. But let's recognize that these mosques are generally hellholes of murderous anti-Westernism and great fountainheads of illiberalism. In the recent case of Maulana Yousef Qureshi, who offered 100 kilos of gold to murder the 12 Danish cartoonists, this guy is the chief cleric. I'd love to see his historic Mohabet Mosque in Peshewar, Pakistan reduced to rubble.

And just for the record, since most Objectivists don't seem to get it: Principled acts of virtue like the above will reduce the number of Muslims ultimately killed by the West -- not increase it. Principled acts of virtue like the above will reduce the level of anti-Western hostility -- not increase it. Think about it.

Mr. Zantonavitch,

I still don't think your idea of attacking mosques is the best, nor do I think it will reduce anything. The mosque in Peshewar I believe is the biggest in the world and it is, I suppose, considered a holy site.
Now think, what if the church on the site where Jesus was crucified was blown to bits because the person who is behind the pulpit there is a nut bag. Wouldn't that piss off Christians around the world? Isn't, by religious standards, that place still holy despite whomever is spewing garbage there?
I agree with Sultan, that Islam is a barbaric religion, but it should be met with force where force is used and ideas everywhere else. Therefore we shouldn't be destroying the objects that their ideas are formed around, just the violent people and the idiotic 'ideas' Muslims hold. And, Quershi can be killed, perhaps quite easily, but the mosque doesn't have to go...yet.

Well, if the building is truly historical or an archeological treasure of mankind.

But that raises another issue which I've never seen a single Objectivist or libertarian discuss: what may have really caused 9/11. I'm talking about the Taliban's destruction of those two giant Buddhas in Afghanistan several months prior. The Talibanis did it in slow motion and the miserable West --  including George Bush and Tony Blair -- did nothing to prevent this annihilation of irreplaceable human history. This was probably interpreted by Muslims worldwide as a bright green light for further horror.

Instead what the West did in the second Gulf War was let the militants safely hide in mosques -- a kind of double outrage. I say it's high time some of those cynosure-of-evil mosques were levelled by us, to teach everybody a lesson -- them and us. Notice how the Sunnis and Shi'ites in Iraq have no problem in doing this to each other.

Andre, surely destroying their non-combatant and non-resource generating property will not bring justice nor benefit us. It will only make enemies. I think it would be preferable to find out who was responsible for destroying the two towers, make them impotent, and take all of their property as a partial repayment for their destruction.
