| | For the information of those who may be wondering why I don't respond to John, John determined some time ago that I was a pedophile, based on my comments regarding "The 300," in which I pointed out that those wonderful Spartans, who were seen in their movie reincarnations disparaging their Athenian allies as "boy lovers," were in fact the most extreme kind of pedophiles imaginable. As I recall, the fact that I considered that the typical damage that results from sexual molestation is largely related to the socially induced shaming of the victim, which would not be the case in a culture in which it was simply assumed that every boy at around age seven would enter into a sexual relationship with a "mentor" who would have unlimited sex with him up to and including adulthood, was taken by John as proof that I must be in favor of this arrangement, rather than trying to assess its costs vs. benefits (and set the record straight as to the Spartans and any hint that the real Spartans had any kind of objectivism going in their culture).
John followed this up with other similar remarks and innuendos of the "when did you stop beating your wife" variety. Anyway, this extended incident seriously calls John's judgment and character into question, and, beyond that, it puts me in the postion of sanctioning such attrocious behavior if I engage in a dialog with someone who has already demonstrated that he will act immorally and then refuse to acknowledge his error.
