| | Yes, and that is because with the exception of contemporary outshoots, all religions have been, from historical times, patriarchal - which essentially views the female's purpose as submissive and for procreation... the old pagan religions, which were matriarchal, and had vestal temple women, and celebrated the female's sexuality - were despised, as they considered that sex of equal or more than the male, something to which the patriarchal could not abide, as it would unravel their power structuring...
