This really cracked me up!

The discussion was about all the winner of the Delaware Republican Party's primary election, Christine O'Donnell, which pits her against the far left Democratic candidate, a fellow who years ago admitted to being a Marxist... and, today, an 11 year old video surfaced showing Ms. O'Donnell saying she had dabbled with being a witch back in high school, but didn't actually join a coven. Too funny!

If I lived in Delaware I'd get a bumper sticker made saying, "I'm voting for the witch"

I have heard that Hillary, when she was the First Lady, had a seance conducted in hopes of speaking with the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt. Doesn't sound like a think Hillary would do, but then I've acquired considerable respect for people's ability to compartmentalize their minds and fill this or that compartment with total nonsense, (as if it could never leak out into other areas).

I don't get what the Democrats are going for here with this smear. Do they think it's 1692 Salem?

Excellent, John! Another great bumper sticker for the citizens of Delaware:

Don't Let the Left Burn
Christine at the Stake!

I don't get what the Democrats are going for here with this smear.

They are trying to paint her as crazy for religious beliefs she briefly held a long time ago, so that the discussion is about that instead her being for limited government and her opponent being a hardcore statist who at one time held Marxist views and may still hold those beliefs.

This being Delaware, the former-and-possibly-current-Marxist is the favorite to win -- these attacks are meant to make sure she doesn't become the deciding senator in a Republican takeover of the Senate:

Jim I of course realize why the Democrats are using that smear. I guess I was just trying to point out the absurdity in what they're doing.

"Bewitched versus Bewildered" A bumper sticker suggestion from Dennis Miller on the Christine O'Donnell versus the bearded Marxist.

He went on, talking about all the people who are regretting their vote for Obama, saying, "I see people walking their vote back from Obama all the time. Like they took an Ambien and woke up naked outside. And they can't believe they did it and they are frightened they might do it again."

It just keeps getting better.  Now there's a video clip of Christene O'Donnell from a 1998 broadcast of Bill Mahr's show in which she claims that evolution is a myth.  She asked why, if evolution is true, monkeys aren't still evolving into humans!

Well, that was 12 years ago.  Maybe she's changed her mind. ... I doubt it.

Thankfully she's not running for evolutionary biologist. But just to be on the safe side, let us hope they vote for the guy who believes in Marxism instead.

You're right, John.  She should be OK running for anything else.  The village could always use another idiot.  But why do you think that my making fun of her means that I think the Marxist would be any better?  It's tweedledumb and tweedledumber!

Well then those are the choices, the Platonic Ideal unfortunately is not available at this time. But which do you think has the greatest impact on your life? Electing a Marxist or electing someone who doesn't believe in evolution?

Her not believing in evolution isn't the problem, John; it's a symptom.  She's a fool; a buffoon.  She should be required to wear a court jester's hat in public, so children and the impressionable will avoid her.

Ok. In the meantime I'd like to see the Marxist lose so that we have some fighting chance of avoiding complete economic collapse. I'd still vote for the court jester hat wearing Witch that doesn't believe in evolution over the Marxist any day of the week.

of course, humans did not come from monkeys - they came from apes, both primates, BUT NOT THE SAME...

And if you get real nit-picky, humans didn't even come from apes -- but from proto-humans (hominids) who were ape-like, but who walked upright.

One thing I must say: never ever say "I'd rather vote for...."

this always implies a willingness to take one poor choice over another, and in the end, you always end up with...pretty much what we have now.

As opposed to what other choice? Morality is not striking a pose to make yourself feel smug and superior, morality is choosing the options that are available to man and grading them to the degree they achieve or frustrate man's standard of value. It's not a poor choice if you decide to choose the option that best preserves your rational self-interests.
