I like watching the woman from the commission. Her body language speaks volumes. She is clearly self-conflicted here, at once guarding her authority and yet unable to muster the will to disagree. Her words belie her feelings.

Yes - the beast within wants so much to grab a frying pan [cast iron of course] and go up there and smack the sides of some heads..... the sense of the enemy, the cry for self-preservation, is so blatantly strong... but, of course, civilized persons would do as Levant is doing - exposing the scum for what they are, and exposing and exposing and exposing.....

[but, then, he ought to turn the tables and sue and/or complain against his tormentors for that very sameness, putting the shoe on the other foot]

At the time, we expected to hear some criticism of our complaints, which were filed as a result of Maclean's refusal to negotiate space for a response to the aforementioned publication. What we did not expect, however, was the almost paranoid assault launched on the respective human rights commissions for accepting our complaints and, in one case so far, for moving ahead to schedule hearings into the matter we have brought to their attention. The latest to attack the commissions is Ezra Levant, whose commentary appeared in this space yesterday.

The authors are students and recent graduates of Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Toronto
