| | My wife surprised me. I figured she would tolerate it well enough, but she actually got enthusiastic. She was yelling and cheering and laughing at the jokes right along with the ten-year olds behind us. She's my gal... This happened once before. She's a proofreader and did about 100 books for Bantam Doubleday over 20 years. One of them was Flight of the Serpent by Val Davis a murder mystery. The viewpoint character is an industrial archaeologist and she gets involved with and rescued by these old pilots with a B-24. Well, we drove past an airshow and I begged for half an hour to talk to my pilot friends. There was a B-24 on the field, and once she started crawling around, I couldn't pull her away -- especially not after those old geezers started chatting up this young girl with such a lot of knowledge and questions. I was surprised. Since then, when I find Liberator memorabilia, I pick it up for her. Anyway, we both got a lot out of this movie and I recommend it for its sense of life.
