Posted by Peter Reidy on 8/08, 2:44pm
Money is conducting an informal, self-selecting (and therefore pretty much useless) poll as to who should be the first woman on a dollar bill.  The good news is that Rand is way out in first, with over half the vote.  The bad news is that Eleanor Roosevelt is second with just over 10%.  Some of the others (Earhart, Tub...(Read more...)

Alan Greenspan: What Went Wrong
Posted by Sam Erica on 10/20, 1:50pm
Studying the minutiae of the events leading to the financial crisis brought to mind some lessons from his famous friendship, from the 1950s on, with the late Objectivist philosopher Ayn Rand. He says that Rand didn't influence him politically—he was always a libertarian—but she did point out tensions in his philosophy ...(Read more...)

Senator Ted Cruz spoke for 21 hours and 19 minutes to rally support for defunding Obamacare. During that looooong speech he quoted Ayn Rand, saying: “One of my all time heroes, Ayn Rand, in Atlas Shrugged described how the parasitical class would put into place arbitrary power. Standard-less rules precisely so the pro...(Read more...)
